One of the attractions of our region is the old half-ruined Turkish fortress Arabat, located within walking distance from the base. Built in the 16th century by order of Khan Giray. Although it is almost completely destroyed - but even what remains is simply amazing in its size and engineering art! The outlines of this fortress are clearly visible on Yandex or Google maps. It was here that one of the episodes of the film "Two Comrades Were Serving" was filmed with Vladimir Vysotsky in the lead role. Literally across the road is Lake Sivash - for lovers and admirers of its healing mud. Along the entire shore of Lake Sivash there are German pillboxes from the Second World War, monuments to soldiers who liberated Crimea. The price of the excursion is 50 rubles.

And this is the main entrance to the Ak-Monai quarries, located near the village of Kamenskoye (old name Ak-Monai) and, accordingly, our base. Some historians believe that the quarries appeared during the reign of Empress Catherine. Undesirable soldiers were sent to the east of Crimea and there they mined stone, built houses and monasteries. Later, convicts were exiled here, who dug kilometers of adits. During the Civil War, local residents hid in the quarries, stored weapons and saved the wounded. ... "Deliver me from the evil one and from the Ak-Monai cliff ..." - there is an inscription ... The one who wrote this request on the wall has long been gone. Has what this man prayed to God come true? .. Price of the excursion - 100 rubles.
